Obaida has 12+ years of experience in the solar industry, having spent his entire career with SE1. Over that time, he has progressively taken ownership of every stage of the asset lifecycle. He plays an integral role in project success through commercial and technical negotiations spanning construction, commercial operation, and long-term operations & maintenance. His core focus areas include pre-construction, testing and commissioning activities, utility coordination, and contractual execution and compliance. Obaida also leads and oversees asset management for SE1’s operating portfolio, ensuring success and optimized performance and revenues through energy and capacity market participation, REC monetization, PPA execution, and long-term technical and commercial strategy. Leveraging his experience, he provides critical feedback and insights to the development, construction, commercial, and finance teams. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in energy systems from North Carolina State University.
