Kenny Habul, SunEnergy1’s CEO and President, is a native of Australia. Kenny has been involved in PV (PV) solar and solar thermal since 1996 and has since established himself as a leader in the field of sustainable construction technologies. Prior to forming SunEnergy1, Kenny was a partner in Habul Brothers Luxury Home Construction, one of the most prominent and innovative builders in Queensland, Australia. Kenny has vast experience in commercial and residential construction and formed a passion for sustainable construction practices and solar energy. Kenny holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Bond University in Australia.
Vice President | Business Development
Brian, SunEnergy1's VP of Business Development, brings over 25 years of energy industry experience to SunEnergy1. Prior to joining the organization, Brian initiated and established the solar enterprise for the largest utility company in the U.S. He was directly responsible for the development of dozens of utility-scale solar projects across the country, totaling nearly 1 GW of installed capacity and representing over $1B of investment. Mr. Kennedy holds an MBA from Xavier University.
Kim worked for Mosaic in Toronto for many years, which is one of the largest marketing companies in North America where she managed the direction of many large brands including Proctor and Gamble.
Kim was actively involved in the development of SunEnergy1 and her many roles saw her involved in HR, Accounting, Insurance, Recruitment and Marketing. She became a cornerstone for the company’s operations and organizational efficiencies as she coordinated its executive team.
Less than 10 years after its creation, SunEnergy1 was ranked the fifth largest developer of utility-scale solar projects in the US by Solar Power World Magazine.
Kim still has daily contact with the SunEnergy1 head office in North Carolina, but the move to New York has provided more time for her to concentrate on being a mom to their four children and manage the family’s philanthropic activities.
Chief Commercial Officer
Kevin is SunEnergy1’s Chief Commercial Officer. He leads with 20 years of experience in the power industry covering technology development, utility T&D operation, and generation project development. Previously as CEO of Renesola Americas, he established the business of both module sales and project development in the Americas. He also spearheaded the business development of 250 MW of solar portfolio for Southern Cal Edison, the largest utility in southern California. Mr. Chen received his master’s degree in electric power from Iowa State University and his MBA from University of California at Los Angeles.
Director of Business Development & Land Acquisition
Neil Williams serves as Business Development for SunEnergy1. Neil is responsible for leading all aspects of land development and entitlement efforts for SunEnergy1’s 2.5GW+ pipeline of projects. His group manages the full land and entitlement process from early-stage land development (including strategic project siting and land acquisition) to asset management and compliance. He has extensive experience in the renewable energy industry and a broad history of working with national utilities, as well as state and local/county authorities to successfully develop more than 1.2GW of solar on more than 20,000 acres across the US.
Zoë Hanes a Graduate of the Evergreen State College, Interdisciplinary Studies and the Vermont Law School, JD and Masters of Studies of Environmental Law and Policy, both magna cum laude. Zoë an experienced executive and licensed attorney specializing in energy, business and operational strategy, public policy, and business execution. Zoë has lead and overseen greenfield development, development operations, deal structuring, capital raising for projects and companies, construction, asset management and the organizational infrastructure required to support those efforts including HR, IT, Accounting and Legal departments. Since 2008, she has contributed to over 1 GW of solar assets placed in service and raised approximately 2 billion in project and corporate finance. Before joining SunEnergy1, Zoë was the CEO of Pine Gate Renewables and General Counsel and Vice President for FLS Energy, Inc.
Chief Operations Officer
Bradley is SunEnergy1's Chief Operations Officer and holds an Unlimited/Master Electrical License in multiple states. He is certified through Underwriter’s Laboratory as a professional PV installer and holds a number of certifications through the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Bradley is an active member of IEEE, NFPA, and works closely with utilities and manufacturers to stay on the leading edge of the PV industry. Bradley is directly involved with all aspects of SunEnergy1, overseeing projects from initial development through construction, operations and maintenance. He possess over 20 years of construction experience and has built more than 500 MW AC of solar PV projects.
Director of Permitting & Community Relations
Linda Nwadike is SunEnergy1’s Director of Permitting and Community Relations. She brings over 15 years of diverse energy generation technologies in solar photovoltaic, oil and gas and nuclear energy to SunEnergy1. Ms. Nwadike aids in obtaining Federal, State and Local jurisdictional permits required for the construction of the solar facilities. Ms. Nwadike also acts as the liaison between SunEnergy1 and local community and government officials. Ms. Nwadike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Biological Technology and is a licensed Project Manager Professional.
Gretchen Sanchez joined the SunEnergy1 team in early 2019. She is a versatile accounting professional with over 20 years experience. She prides herself on utilizing her strong financial skillset to lead, advise and support the organization. She was born and raised in multi-cultural, Miami, Florida, and later relocated to Orlando, FL where she attended and received her degrees from the University of Central Florida. Prior to coming to SunEnergy1, Gretchen had the opportunity to serve as the financial leader for various organizations; including manufacturing, construction, brand development and insurance. It is this well-balanced, yet multi-industry experience that makes her such an asset to the SunEnergy1 portfolio.
Lindsey Talmadge has been serving within the Human Resources department for 5 years. She was born in Ohio but raised a southern girl in Raleigh, North Carolina. He father, a retired project foreman for Time Warner Cable, introduced her to the construction industry young by taking her on various cable jobs as a young child. After attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earning a B.A. in Pubic Health (B.S.P.H.), Lindsey turned her passion for helping people into a career in employee relations for the fitness industry before joining SunEnergy1. Prior to this position, Lindsey has served on community panels and forums to reduce the carbon footprint. Lindsey manages all daily HR functions from benefit administration, compensation, employee relations, training, and office administration.
Talent Acquisition Manager
Kathleen Lawless is SunEnergy1’s Manager of Talent Acquisition. She brings over fifteen years of global recruiting for crucial leadership roles both within the US and globally. Ms. Lawless specializes in Diversity and Inclusion and has contributed to a wide variety of industries and Fortune 500 companies, including Energy, Information Technology, Pharmaceutical, and Financial Services. She focuses on employer branding, corporate culture, and predictive analytics and staying current with social media trends in candidate engagement. A mother of four and competitive runner, Ms. Lawless holds a Bachelor of Political Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick NJ, as well as her Elementary Education Degree from Keane University, NJ.
